Actions Making a Difference – Get Involved Now!

Hello Faculty Colleagues,

Last month’s efforts by faculty at the Board of Education meeting are making a difference and have resulted in the administration asking to go back to the bargaining table, and scheduling mediation sessions with the faculty.  We need to keep up the pressure now more than ever, in order to arrive at a Fair and Reasonable Contract offer.

Door signs and posters are being distributed around the campus today by the Action Team and your Dept. Rep.  Please put them up on your office doors and share them with colleagues.  Find one that speaks to your issues (there are many to choose from) and get them up so that your students become aware of our contract fight.  Be creative about where you place the posters.  Put them in public spaces, at building entrances and places where students congregate.

Join us at the LCCEA Action Tables in the cafeteria this week.  The Action Team will be manning tables to get the word out to the campus this Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 11-2pm.  Join us at the table for lunch if you have a break, or just stop by and show your support and pick up some signage to share with your colleagues.

Contact your Department Reps to discuss other upcoming actions this week.

You Are the Union.  Our concerns will not be taken seriously without your support and that of your fellow faculty members.  Get involved.  We encourage you to talk with each other and find ways that you can support your Faculty Bargaining Team to the successful resolution of a Fair and Reasonable Contract.

Thank you,
LCCEA Action Team
