The LCCEA bargaining team and the Administration begin Mediation sessions this Wednesday, April 16th. Faculty turnout at last week’s Board of Ed. meeting was fantastic and we need to continue to show the administration that we support our Bargaining team and will not settle for less than a Fair and Reasonable contract offer.
There are several ways in which colleagues can show their support for the team as they enter into Mediation.
Faculty who are on campus early can join the Faculty Bargaining team at the Coffee Bar in the cafeteria at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday the 16th. This is a great way to touch base with the Bargaining Team and show your support as they head into mediation.
Faculty will be gathering at lunch time on Wednesday from 12:30-1:30 p.m. in the cafeteria to show support for the Bargaining Team and receive an update on how to stay active during the Mediation sessions. Wear red, join your colleagues and take some time together to show our support for our Bargaining Team.
Red-Shirt Wednesday: This is an easy and effective way to show your support for your Faculty Bargaining Team. If we all wear Red in solidarity this Wednesday, April 16th, it will send an important message from the Faculty Unity to the Administration.
Wear your LCCEA buttons: If you don’t have one of our new buttons, be sure to ask your Dept. Union Rep. for one, or join us at Wednesday’s action table or faculty gathering in the cafeteria.
The Action Table will be set up in the cafeteria on Wednesday from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Stop by for more posters, buttons and informational flyers, which you can hand out to the community.
Talk to your faculty colleagues and encourage them to participate in Red-Shirt Wednesday and attend at least one of the gatherings.
