Part-time Faculty: Are You an LCCEA Member?

Dear Part-time Faculty Colleagues,

As we approach our Spring Membership Meeting, now is a good time to make sure that you are an active member of your union, LCCEA. Anyone teaching above .2 FTE is part of the bargaining unit and can join. Bargaining unit members and active members pay the same dues, so there is no additional cost to joining.

Membership Benefits Include:

    •    Participate in LCCEA elections as voting members and candidates
    •    Receive discounts and promotions from our affiliates, the NEA and the OEA
    •    Opportunity to support community college and K-12 educators and students
    •    Showing support for your union

Not sure if you’re a member? E-mail our Membership Chair (and part-time faculty in French), Valerie Metcalfe ( to make sure.

To become an active member, fill out the membership form, available here.

Please return the form via e-mail or through intracampus mail to Valerie Metcalfe (, Division of Language, Literature and Communication, Center Building 457.

Forms will also be available at the Membership Meeting, Thursday, May 15th, 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. (location TBA).

Please note: You do not need to be an active member to vote to ratify the Tentative Agreement. All bargaining unit members (faculty teaching over .2 FTE) can vote.

In Solidarity,
