Wishing you a wonderful break & non-teaching work update

Dear faculty colleagues,

I’m writing to wish you a most wonderful, restful winter break.

I would also like to share one quick update regarding the non-teaching work reporting requirement slated to begin in January. Your LCCEA representatives will continue to work collaboratively toward a full resolution with the College. In the meantime, in order to allow time for collaborative discussions, we have reached an agreement with the Administration to suspend implementation such that the reporting requirement will not go into effect in Winter term. The final survey results on this topic were: 87% support suspension of the requirement with 79% of contracted faculty responding to the survey.

Please join me in thanking your members of the Grievance Team, Bargaining Team, elected officers, and survey administrator who all have a role in leadership, the suspension of this requirement for Winter, and work toward a full resolution next term: Christina Howard, Sarah Erickson, Don Easton, Joseph Colton, Meggie Wright, Gerry Meenaghan, Russell Shitabata, Peggy Oberstaller, April Myler, Wendy Simmons, Wendy Rawlinson, Kate Sullivan, Rosa Lopez, and Joe Escobar.

‘Looking forward to seeing you in January for “Coffee & Donuts,” hosted by your Membership Committee on Wednesday, January 8, 8:30 – 10:00 a.m. on the second floor of the Center building and Wednesday, January 15, 10:30 – noon at the downtown campus. LCCEA will also be hosting our Winter term general meeting open to all members on Friday, January 24, 1:30 – 3:30 p.m.

Warmly, and In Solidarity,

Adrienne
